“Man Box Culture” – Toxic Masculinity

Fox Valley Voices of Men Presents:

 Mission of Abuse Prevention

Shannon Kenevan, Voices of Men Community Engagement Leader, joins the Mid-day Women’s Alliance membership meeting on August 16th to share the mission and advocacy of the “Fox Valley Voices of Men”, an organization which works to engage men and boys in the prevention of sexual assault and domestic violence and how this work is done in close partnership with women.

Tangible, day-to-day steps will be shared, with practical ways that all people can help in dismantling toxic masculinity/the “Man Box”, as one means of looking upstream and decreasing sexual assault, domestic violence, and a number of other societal problems.

Community Spotlight:  Mid-day Women’s Alliance is adding a new feature to its meetings – hosting of a non-profit organization.  In conjunction with “Voices of Men”, we will host “Jump Start Auto Repair”, a program of Harbor House and Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, whose mission it is to improve the auto repair experience for women and help domestic violence survivors.
