Habitat for Humanity – The Women’s Build
Amy Ristow, Associate Director, Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity will join Mid-day to give us details on Habitat for Humanity and specifically the project for which Habitat was selected to receive funds from Mid-day’s Black & Pink Ball in December, 2017.
Habitat's Women’s Build started about 20 years ago with the intention to involve more female volunteers in construction work. In spring 2018, Habitat will build a new construction 3 bed/1 bath home. The entire volunteer crew for this build will be females. The home is being sponsored by a challenge grant from Exit Elite Realty and owner Lori Muller. All funds raised from individuals and through the Black & Pink Ball will be matched by that grant to fully fund the project.
John Ernst, President & Executive Director will introduce us to “Launch Wisconsin”, a startup and a non-profit organization. Founded and built by Wisconsin’s entrepreneur community as a single event, Launch Wisconsin is now a capacity builder for the community, and a producer of events and services that supports entrepreneurship and innovation in Wisconsin. John will speak to Social Innovation and Assisting Women Entrepreneurs with Small Businesses
