September’s Program is a “Double Feature”
Portraying a confident, healthy image is crucial to securing a job during an interview and dressing professionally is a vital component. How you dress can make, or break, your chances of getting a job offer. What do you do when you can't afford interview attire? Clients come to the CCC and that’s where the New Start Boutique comes in.
Diane MacDonald, Executive Director of the Community Clothes Closet (MDWA’s B&P Ball recipient for 2018) will explain that clients who have a scheduled job interview can shop in the New Start Boutique for interview-appropriate business attire. We have everything from suits to shirts, accessories, even undergarments for women and men. Each client receives “Tips &Tricks for a Great Interview” to help guide and prepare them. We even provide haircut certificates from a local salon if the client is in need of a new, more professional look.

Jeanne Roberts, President, League of Women Voters, will give us a bit of the history behind women’s right to vote plus women’s equality, and in particular cover how to prepare to be an informed voter. Jeanne will also provide tips on how to fit voting into your busy schedule in order to boost voter turnout among women for this mid-term election year. She will address central questions such as: Do you know when election day is? Do you know what will be on your ballot—if not, do you know how to find out? Do you know what district you live in?
